CosyChats Cookie Policy

Effective date: 04 11 2026

1. About This Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how CosyChats, operated by Out of Darkness Comes Light Limited (“CosyChats”, “we”, “us”, “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our website.

It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small files that websites place on your device. They let a website work, keep accounts secure, remember your choices and help us understand how the website is used. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in a similar way, and we treat them the same as cookies in this policy.

3. The Types of Cookies We Use

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are needed for CosyChats to work. They are used for:

  • logging in and keeping your account secure;
  • keeping your session active as you move around the website;
  • remembering booking details while you complete a booking;
  • processing payments; and
  • preventing fraud.

Because the website can’t work properly without them, these cookies don’t need your consent, and you can’t switch them off in our cookie settings.

Analytics cookies

With your permission, we use analytics cookies to understand how people use CosyChats, such as which pages are visited, how people find us and whether changes improve the website. We only use them if you agree, and you can say no without affecting your use of the website.

Functional cookies

With your permission, functional cookies remember optional choices, such as display preferences, to make the website more convenient. We only use them if you agree.

4. Cookies We Use

These are the cookies our website currently uses:

Cookie Set by Purpose Type How long it lasts
cookieyes-consent CosyChats (CookieYes) Remembers your cookie choices so we don’t ask you again on every page Strictly necessary 1 year
wordpress_test_cookie CosyChats (WordPress) Checks whether your browser accepts cookies, so the website works properly Strictly necessary Session (deleted when you close your browser)
wpEmojiSettingsSupports CosyChats (WordPress) Checks whether your browser can display emojis correctly Strictly necessary Session (deleted when you close your browser)

We don’t currently use analytics, functional or advertising cookies.

Our cookie banner shows the current list of cookies, and we keep this table up to date.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Some services we use may set their own cookies:

  • Worldpay sets cookies on its secure payment page to process your payment and prevent fraud. These are strictly necessary.
  • Embedded videos. Where we show parents’ introduction videos from YouTube, we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube doesn’t set tracking cookies unless you play the video. [ADD: confirm with Moin, or say videos only load after you accept cookies]

These providers handle information according to their own privacy and cookie policies.

6. Advertising Cookies

With your permission, we use advertising cookies, such as Google Ads, to measure how our adverts perform and show relevant adverts. We only use them if you agree.

7. Your Cookie Choices

When you first visit CosyChats, we ask whether you’re happy for us to use optional cookies. You can accept or reject them, and rejecting them won’t stop you using the website. We won’t use optional cookies unless you agree.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of CosyChats, such as logging in and booking, may not work.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new service. The latest version will always be on our website with its effective date.

9. Contact Us

If you have a question about this policy or how we use cookies, email contact@cosychats.com. You can find out more about how we use personal information in our Privacy Policy.
