Our Experience Of Being Struggling Parents Lost In Parenting information Overload Information.
As parents to be we read books and joined on line groups. We soaked up all the information and then the children came and it all went out of our heads. Things were happening so quickly we had trouble keeping up and knowing what to do for the best.
We had family but we adopted and no one in our family had done that before. Our family was and is supportive but sometime’s they just didn’t understand.
The Person Who Helped Us When We Were Struggling Parents.
Our savior was a parent who’d been through the same parenting journey (adoption) as us and understood the 100’s of emotions and choices that go through your head when you adopt children. They shared what we should do (create a safe space) and what we shouldn’t (days out, family visits, over stimulation) . Basically all the stuff we had been doing.
This person helps us. They shared their experience and knowledge. They answered questions our friends and family couldn’t. They understood like friends and family couldn’t.
This Lead Us To Create CosyChats.
So every parent can find their oasis of parenting calm. Their oracle of parenting knowledge and emotional anchor. Together we are stronger but may be not in a collective I’m not being heard way. I’m not being understood. I’m being judged and gossiped about.
