Hi, I’m a mum to two daughters aged 17 and 18, so my experience includes parenting across different stages, with two children 17 months apart. I am dyspraxic, which has shaped my experience of parenting, particularly around organisation and day-to-day life admin. I also have lived experience of postnatal depression, which was a very difficult time for me. Over the years, my experience has included a range of everyday parenting situations, including newborn reflux, managing two young children close in age, toddler meltdowns, and supporting a child experiencing anxiety into adulthood. I’ve also experienced supporting a child through school with undiagnosed neurodiversity, which we now understand to be dyspraxia and possibly dyslexia, as well as navigating transitions such as moving into sixth form. Alongside this, my experience has included changes in family life, including moving from part-time work to being at home while my children were at school, and then returning to part-time work. More recently, we’ve been navigating the teenage years, including exams and thinking about what comes next as children move into adulthood. I’m open to conversations about these experiences and what things have been like for us as a family. Any conversation with me is based on my own personal experience — simply sharing what it has been like for us.
