With over 23 years of experience supporting children and families, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to the work I do. I currently serve as a Lead Attendance Officer and House Support Officer within a high school setting, where I provide attendance guidance, pastoral care and behaviour support to help young people overcome barriers, build resilience and re-engage positively with their education. My journey began in primary education as a Teaching Assistant and Childminder, before going on to run my own childcare business for 15 years. Throughout my career, supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour development has remained at the heart of my work. I have seen firsthand how early guidance, consistency and compassionate boundaries can shape a child’s confidence, choices and long-term outcomes. Alongside my professional roles, I am also a parent of six children now in their 30s, two of whom are my biological children. Parenting such a wonderfully diverse family has given me deep insight into the realities, challenges and joys that families experience every day. I am trained in counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which enables me to offer both emotional understanding and practical, evidence-based tools. I am particularly passionate about helping children regulate emotions, strengthen self-awareness, develop healthy thinking patterns and improve behaviour through supportive intervention.
