Saba
Hi, I'm Saba, a mum of five children aged between 4 and 19. Parenting such a wide range of ages has brought many different experiences and challenges over the years, and life has taught me more than any textbook ever could.
My eldest daughter has faced significant mental health challenges. Navigating this as a parent highlighted the importance of taking time to listen and have honest conversations, and it has influenced the way I communicate within my family.
My youngest son was born with complex medical needs, including Tetralogy of Fallot and VACTERL association. Raising him has involved learning about his conditions, attending countless hospital appointments, navigating medical and legal systems, and advocating for the support he needs.
There were times when I felt completely alone and broken as we faced uncertainty, appointments, procedures, and the challenges that came with navigating complex systems. Those experiences have become a significant part of our family life and have shaped me in ways I never expected.
Any conversation with me is based on my own personal experience — simply sharing what it has been like for us. I'm happy to talk about parenting children of different ages, mental health challenges, complex medical needs, hospital journeys, family advocacy, and the realities of family life when things don't always go to plan.
I enjoy hearing about other people's experiences and perspectives and having open conversations about the ups and downs of parenting and family life.
